Design-led Office Space

Hat-trick of lettings at The Southside Building

Three more businesses have taken space at The Southside Building, the design-led, 11-storey office block on Hurst Street in Brimingham city centre.

Cygnet Health Care, an independent provider of mental health services, has taken two suites on the third floor totalling 6,128 sq ft, while growing health care recruitment agency First Active 365 has signed up for 2,570 sq ft on the first floor. Digital service consultancy Hippo Digital has taken a 956 sq ft suite on the fourth floor.
They follow three lettings secured earlier in the year to court intermediary service Communicourt, Irish HR technology specialist HR Duo and Braska Coffee House which launched the ground floor café.
Alex Tross, director at Centrick Commercial, brokered the deals on behalf of building owner Paloma Capital. He said: “A huge welcome to latest occupiers Cygnet Health Care, First Active 365 and Hippo Digital and I look forward to seeing them flourish here.
“The varied mix of occupiers at The Southside Building adds to the vibrant atmosphere and great community ethos which sets it apart from other city centre office schemes.
“Paloma have done a brilliant job of creating a fresh and exciting workspace in the cultural heart of Birmingham, surrounded by endless places to socialise, public transport links and easy access to the main city core. The strong leasing momentum means that just six suites remain available for lease.”
Chris Morris, property commercial director at Cygnet Health Care added: “Over recent years our Birmingham team has grown to support the growth of the company and is our hub for recruitment, training and human resources. It’s important that our support services have a good environment to work in and we’re really impressed by The Southside Building’s location, friendly and bright welcome and the space and design within the office areas.”
Reiss Roberts, Managing Director at First Active 365 added: “Moving to The Southside Building was an easy decision. This space promotes a creative and vibrant culture which correlates perfectly with our vision for First Active 365. We are continuously expanding and believe our office should reflect and reward the high performance of our staff.

Rachel Abbott, a senior consultant at Hippo Digital added: “It was important that our new Midlands base had a great atmosphere and buzz as well as a space that felt ‘on brand’ for us as a business. We found all that here.”

Completed just over a year ago, Paloma Capital’s £3 million refurbishment included the creation of The Studio, a co-working hub with boardroom and tele-conferencing facilities overlooking Hippodrome Square, plus cycle storage, shower and changing facilities and lockers. Occupiers also benefit from WiredScore Gold certified digital connectivity throughout the building as well as an onsite concierge, events and local offers and discounts.
